Managing everything that has to be done for social media marketing can be overwhelming. I know, since over the last year, I have been strategically looking at how I utilize social media for my business. My journey to create the business God has put on my heart has made it necessary. I am transitioning from only working with clients one on one to creating more group focus services. While I could have taken God’s business plan and opened the floodgates and implemented it all at once, that wasn’t part of God’s desire. He provided me with the road map but has also said do it His way and in His time. His way has included me becoming more knowledgeable about social media. I have been taking lots of courses and working with individuals who can help me create a solid foundation. This has lead to me creating blog posts and training courses about social media.
That being said, one of the most important things I have learned is to have a solid plan for each social media marketing platform I decide to use. This plan ensures I don’t miss anything and I get the results I want. Below I outline the nine key elements to create an effective social media marketing plan for your business.

This step involves knowing your audience, industry influencers, and your competition.
Identify Your Resources & Budget
Do you have funds available for staff, contractors, software or promotion? How much is your time required and what is the cost of doing it yourself?
Determine How You Will Manage Social Media Marketing
This one builds on knowing your resources and budget. Make decisions on how you will manage your social media marketing.
Develop Campaign Goals & Objectives
You need to know what you want to carry out and how. What are your offers, Call To Action, and point of your social media activity?
Optimize All Content & Marketing Materials
Create content you can use on multiple platforms and in multiple ways. Can you turn your blog into a video? Create an e-book?
Optimize & Improve Online Real Estate
This includes everything from your branding to having an optimized website.
Complete & Customize Your Social Media Profiles
On each platform it’s important that you personalize your profile, optimize images and make the social media unique to that particular platform, but still representative of your brand.
Build Your Social Media Networks
No matter what social media platform you are on be sure to connect, share, recommend, engage and build your authority as an expert.
Monitor Your Metrics
Measure your success. What does your Call To Action engagement look like? What are your engagement levels? Make adjustments as needed to be more effective. If something is working replicate it.
