Public libraries serve as vital community sanctuaries where adult patrons seek learning, quiet focus, and personal enrichment. However, many adult patrons navigate demanding daily schedules, family caregiving responsibilities, and constant digital noise. They arrive at the library looking for genuine tools to restore their daily baseline.
K. Gaskins Consulting, LLC partners with public libraries across Connecticut, New England and the tri-state area to deliver structured adult workshops, interactive Discovery Labs, somatic self-settling sessions, and reflective Becoming Board labs. These offerings teach patrons how to recognize daily stress patterns, practice physical self-settling, map personal boundaries, and implement simple focus practices to support their personal well-being—all backed by our strict Library Facility & Room Care Guarantee.
Featured adult workshop options for host libraries.
Host libraries can select from three distinct, customizable program formats based on community programming goals. All sessions are non-clinical, educational, and restorative.

Frequently asked questions from programming librarians.
How do your rates align with the Connecticut Library Consortium (CLC) agreement?
As a verified CLC Member Presenter, K. Gaskins Consulting offers preferred consortium rates and standardized pricing structures for all CLC member public libraries across Connecticut. Contact us directly or search for K. Gaskins Consulting in the CLC Member Directory for current consortium pricing details.
Do library staff need to prepare, provide, or clean up any workshop supplies?
Zero staff effort is required. All core workshop supplies—including tactile workspace tools, heavy cardstock ledgers, glue sticks, boundary tiles, and reference handouts—are brought, managed, and cleaned up entirely by the presenter. Library staff only need to unlock the room and provide standard tables and chairs.
What is your Facility & Room Care Guarantee for creative labs like Becoming Boards?
We guarantee that meeting rooms are left completely clean, tidy, and ready for immediate subsequent use. We never use wet paints, dyes, messy liquids, or hazardous materials. All paper cutouts and glue sticks are neatly contained during Becoming Board labs, protecting library tables, carpets, and equipment.
How far in advance should we schedule a workshop for our adult programming calendar?
Most host libraries schedule 30 to 60 days in advance to align with their printed newsletter and digital event promotion cycles. However, we welcome inquiries for upcoming quarterly programming cycles or shorter lead times depending on calendar availability.
Can workshop attendance be expanded beyond the standard 15-participant registration cap?
Yes. While our base program agreement includes full curated supply sets for up to 15 participants to maintain a quiet, high-touch experience, host libraries can easily expand registration capacity for high-demand sessions by adding additional participant seats for a nominal per-person material fee.
Are virtual or hybrid library sessions available?
Yes. While live, on-site workshops offer the richest tactile engagement, Somatic Self-Settling and Discovery Labs can be seamlessly adapted for live virtual webinars or hybrid community streams for libraries with limited meeting space.
Bring quiet focus and practical restoration to your adult patrons.
