Beyond Profit: How to Grade Your Business on What Truly Matters
We’ve spent time redefining success. We’ve learned that a truly “successful” business is not just a profitable one; it’s one that nurtures your life.
So, how do you measure that? How do you track your progress toward this new vision?
You create a new set of metrics. I call it the Nurtured Business Scorecard. It’s a simple, weekly check-in where you rate your business on a scale of 1-10 in the areas that actually contribute to your well-being.
Your scorecard might include categories like:
- Alignment: How much of my work this week was in my “sweet spot”?
- Energy: How were my energy levels throughout the week?
- Boundaries: How well did I honor my “not-to-do” list and work hours?
- Freedom: How much spaciousness and flexibility did I experience?
- Joy: How much fun did I have in my business this week?
Profit is still important—it’s the fuel. But it’s not the whole story. This scorecard is your personal dashboard for your “Wellth”—your holistic wealth. It gives you real data on how your business is feeling, not just how it’s performing. It allows you to see where you’re thriving and where you need to make a change.
Actionable Nurturing Step: Create your own scorecard. Choose 3-5 categories that matter most to you. At the end of this week, give yourself a score in each. What does the data tell you?

Money has never been my motivating factor. Time is more valuable to me than money. This scorecard is a great way to reframe.
This is a great metric. Especially to ask yourself how much JOY was in your work for the week. Because without that, we really don’t have much of a mission, do we?
What a helpful way to keep track of business. Its not easy finding joy in the grind though and that’s why this post is a big help.
