Over the past few weeks, I have shared social media related blog post focused on building trust, increasing engagement, leveraging your audience and showing your personality. Now that you have the basics of these areas it is time to focus on engaging content.
Building a community on social media starts and ends with attracting and interacting with your ideal audience. This audience is made up of the individuals who can’t get enough of your content and who share a common interest or goal with you. When you find your audience you want to make sure you are showing up daily and engaging with them. One way this is done is by sharing quality content (your own content and content from others). Below is a list of five lazy man’s resources for finding engaging content from others.
Medium
Medium is a curated site with collections and trendings lists of content you can browse to share on your site. You can also follow your favorite authors and check Mediums emails for content you might like.
Scoop-it
Scoop.it allows you to create curated content pages around a particular theme. You are able to share the content you want on social media (free account allows one network). I like this option since you are able to set up keywords to search and then receive suggested content based on what is popular.
Do a quick search on your keywords and look through the feed for great content to share. A good pin will take you to a quality post with share buttons already installed to make it easy to get the content to your audience.
Youtube
Just like on Pinterest do a quick search on your keywords and find great videos to share. This could be a great way to find a short video that is entertaining or just plain fun. A cat video that connects to your business maybe? I am sure you can write something to show how it does.
Google Alerts
Review content directly in your email. With Google Alerts you setup the keywords you want to monitor. You will receive an email when content is available. BTW if you haven’t set up a google alert for your name and business take a minute to do so. This way you can be alerted if someone is referring to you and your business.
The great thing about using these sources is that the first four are sources you can also post your quality content on for others to find and share. Take a few minutes today and check them out.
Also if you want to see the content I share with my audience be sure to connect with me on Pinterest, Twitter, Linkedin, and Facebook.
